New Site/ New Site Articulation: Here are some photos.

The first images are a series of images from a study model done in wax that I used to experiment the condition of the site where my building from under ground meets the ground. The left image is of the under side of the study model which is of the "ceiling" of the building. The middle image is of the under site of the model and is a shadow study. The left image is of the study model of the ground condition in design.
The second images are of the (new) site that I am relocating my design to, the site is on the west side of the existing library where the grove of trees and quad are now. This site is denoted by the orange on the site plan.

  1. so, you got your camera+download capabilities to work... ha! i knew you could do it. in any case, since you are starting to have all of the pieces (ie. new site and cast wax model of ground), you should try collaging the pieces together (ie. scan or xerox or print flattened images of your cast model at different scales - related to the site plan/photo) by placing them together and with different configurations (in a sense, using these pieces to help design the character of the quad above your library intervention). ultimately what you might discover would have to do with scale relations, continuity of lines + views, etc.

  2. finally i put images up and i get a comment, i guess ill just keep my thoughts to my self and not babble on and on anymore... I have started to look to the existing condition in this new quad for clues on what starts to get manipulated and even more so what CAN get manipulated. as of now I am looking at the loading entrance (ramp of existing) for possible entrance area, the change in elevation ie the 5/6 stairs that drop into the quad, the fact that only half the quad is gridded like the main quad and the other half is just green space also the limiting edges of the collinade (sp?) that wrapps two edges of the site, also these edges are reinforced by large monothithic walls etc etc, guess i should stop typing and maybe start just drawing as i wont get any feed back unless i have images... just kidding
